This event kicks off our “Legends of the Iowa Shakespeare stage series –  you will be entertained by those truly Legendary Actors and Performing Artists who have been lauded leaders on the stage and in the arts all across Iowa, such as Hollis Monroe.

Hollis is known state-wide via public radio for his expertise in classical entertainment and has been recognized for years for his Operatic talents. Hollis was also one of the founders of the original Shakespearean Institute of the Iowa Shakespeare Project.

Hollis will give a rendition of a passage from Shakespeare that he personally selected – and whet your appetite for what he will do later this summer in the role of Egeus/”Bottom” in A Midsummer Night’s Dream Extravaganza.

  • At this wonderful party, you’ll enjoy old friends and new- and will also have a chance to hear a reading from the ONLY “new” Shakespeare work authenticated in over 300 years!  Authenticated as a Shakesperean work by Arden just this past March, this is the first public presentation from “Double Falsehood” in the Metro – you want to be there!
