PHOTO 2012: ISE casts are multi-talented, and especially in our early years, often have played key roles both on and off stage. Here, the talented Janae Hohbein and Nick Toussaint were the leads in ISE's 2012 Romeo and Juliet, while behind the scenes, Janae handled scheduling while Nick was also the Fight Choreographer for that hit show. In 2013 Nick returned to ISE from his new work in the theatre scene of Chicago  - -to once again handle ISE's current Fight Choreography needs.  Thank you Janae and Nick!

SHAKESPEARAN ACTORS
AND PROFESSIONS OF THE CLASSICAL PERFORMING ARTS:

A. FOGG:  Practically a member of the family, A.F. (or A., as he is known) has appeared in every show which ISE has done outdoors.  Emphasizing that he is abjectly not interested in indoor theatre, A. loves to roll into an "en plein air" show and really settle into one of his famous cool, quiet roles.

SARA LYONS:  Our long time Choreographer returns for yet another ISE show (already her 7th show with ISE!), and this year, audiences get to see Sara take her own scene on center stage!  We are so fortunate- over her 20 year dance career, Sara has won innumerable awards and averages a First in almost every competition possible!

LORENZO SANDOVAL, MFA:  Our own ISE Artistic Director will play our host Puck this year - he is also Directs and has adapted this show.  A veteran actor of over 90 films plus even more stage works to his credits, Lorenzo recently was honored for his acting in film with the Wild Rose Film Festival Distinguished Achievement Award, an award which the film itself also garnered.

MARIE SCHMIDT, MM:  Marie returns to the ISE after 4 prior leading roles - as Mina in ISE's several runs Dracula, as Mirdanda in 2014's Tempestuous - - and after now playing a wide variety of roles in ISE's A Christmas Carol at Terrace Hill.   In this 2015 show, Marie provides ISE's "Taste of Opera" sampler, where she showcases music from her European singing tours.

MATT WIGGINS: Playing several different roles in this 2015 pilot show,  Matt is already one of ISE audience's favorite hearthrobes - and this 2015 show allows him to now showcase his vocal talents, too. Matt was a former ISE Page to Stage program participant now in his 11th ISE show!

2015 SHOW ARTISTS PRESENTING THE FESTIVAL'S

INAUGURAL

IOWA "BEST OF THE BEST"

2015 SEGMENTS

TINA HAASE AND BRANDON FINDLAY:  Tina and Brandon scarcely need an introduction to Iowa Festival crowds - Tina having served as a headliner singing act for nearly every festival in central Iowa- and increasingly across the state, and Brandon as an accomplished guitartist recently with the Des Moines Music Coalition.  The first Musical Director for Shakesperience Festival's inaugural two years, Tina (and often Brandon) have frequently returned to the festival ever since to provide their trademark renditions of both Jazz classics, as well as their original music, many pieces written specifically for the Shakesperience Festival.

KARIN STEIN AND FRIENDS:  Karin has held forth with her extremely popular band from Grinnel Iowa for many years, frequently sojurning all across the Region (and indeed, internationally) to present her hallmark brand of culturally diverse music.

 THE ALL IMPORTANT
BACK-OF-THE-HOUSE TEAM 2015!

??? ISE Insiders:  do you know these great folks?

THANK YOU 2014 ISE BACK-OF-THE-HOUSE TEAM!

Front of the House is ONLY as good as our extraordinary off-stage team!  Thus as always, ISE continues to toast our terrific backstage team in the name of ISE Founding Backstage Goddess Extraordinaire, Helen "My Helen" Van Dam, a stalwart guiding light behind the scenes for our most formative 4 seasons.  We are only letting Helen off the hook with us these days because she is in Russia – and actually, we know she will likely be running an entire country herself one day!  Helen, we could NOT have made it through our inaugural years without you.  You know you have a theatre home here whenever you return!

So in Helen's name in 2015, the ISE delightedly toasted and welcomed back the following veteran ISE Backstage Wonders.  First, of course, was Veteran "Lord of the Land" Jake Hines, who now in his 13th Heinemann-Sandoval show has truly become (along with his good friend, the notorious Mr. A. Fogg) a real member of the family due to his uncompromising dedication to our super lighting, sound and special effects components.  He even throws in some awesome set design elements, too!  Who loves ya, Jake!  Let the sprinklers be damned!

Welcome back also to Site Manager Christy Dietsch, graduate of UNI's great theatre program and returning now for her 5th show with ISE! Christy's great site managment strengths will be of enormous support to our continued growth

As usual, ISE's Executive Producer, Robin Heinemann - who has served innumerable back stage roles during her nearly 30 stage productions, coordinates Costume and Set Design for this production.  Robin notes that this year, it was exciting to create a look for a show that is being set "outside of time" - she notes this show will have a markedly different look than any other ISE show previously.

Also as usual, the ISE was grateful to have our Artistic Director Lorenzo Sandoval. MFA, at the creative helm, who among many other duties, wrote the original play script that showcases and frames our special 2015 Pilot show .

FIGHT CHOREOGRAPHER NICK TOUSSAINT!  Talk about making it look easy- ISE is delighted to welcome back last year's extraordinary Romeo and astonishingly talented fight choreographer Nick Toussaint, who returns briefly from his new digs in the Chicago theatre scene to have another go round as ISE fight choregraphy this year for our Othello show.  Nick's easy grace (and deviously convincing fight choregraphy) literally took breaths away last year- we can't wait to see what he has in store for us now!  Especially when one considers that one of Nick's initial responses to learning that our 2013 Othello would be set in old Mexico was to delightedly exclaim: "Bowie Knives!"

THE ALL IMPORTANT BACK OF THE HOUSE TEAM 2013!

??? ISE Insiders:  do you know these great folks?

THANK YOU 2013 ISE BACK-OF-THE-HOUSE TEAM!

So in Helen's name in 2013, the ISE delightedly toasted and welcomed back the following veteran ISE Backstage Wonders.  First, of course, was Veteran "Lord of the Land" Jake Hines, who now in his 12th Heinemann-Sandoval show has truly become (along with his good friend, the notorious Mr. A. Fogg) a real member of the family due to his uncompromising dedication to our super lighting, sound and special effects components.  He even throws in some awesome set design elements, too!  Who loves ya, Jake!  Let the sprinklers be damned!

Welcome back also to Site Manager Christy Dietsch, graduate of UNI's great theatre program and returning now for her 4th show with ISE! Christy's great site managment strengths will be of enormous support to our continued growth, along with the multi-talented Anna Sundstrom, our 2011 ISE intern who this year assumed many important behind-the-scenes roles as Assistant to the Director (She has a great on stage role, too!) NEW THIS YEAR: Long time volunteer with ISE as our extraordinary professional photographer, the multi talented Ava Rogers came formally onto the team this year, in the important role of our House Manager, where she coordinated our volunteer ushers and served as the center of operations for audience managment and for greeting our guests.

Also as usual, the ISE was grateful to have our Artistic Director Lorenzo Sandoval. MFA, at the creative helm, who among many other duties, wrote the original play adaptation for our 2012 Othello. Lorenzo directed this great production. There, he was joined by the multi-talented James Serpento, who joined Lorenzo as Co-Director for this special play.

Finally, in 2013 ISE was proud to inaugurate several new paid internships, including internships that extended to some of our on-stage talent who took on some key off stage roles.  Thank you to Heidi Bibler, Valeria Avina and Kendra Fender.
