Donations Welcome!

ABOUT YOUR DONATION:  The Iowa Shakespeare Experience is a registered Iowa “Best Practices” non-profit listed on the Iowa Registry of Non-profits which meet certain standards for effective, ethical and wise use of public funds, and we are a full 501 (c)3 non-profit so that all donations to us are fully tax deductible to the full extent of the law.

And, as the Metro’s primary source of FREE theatre for the entire community, as well as a leading source of certified, licensed arts programming for youth (with special and bilingual areas of expertise with disenfranchised and at-risk youth), you can trust that your contribution will have significant meaning to many people all throughout the Metro community - - from Senior Citizens otherwise unable to attend the theatre to families who want to expose their children to the classics, to the young professionals we need in our work force who want to live in a culturally vibrant city instead of relocating to a larger metropolitan area.

Indeed, 100% of your contribution stays in YOUR community here in Iowa’s capital city.

After all, although we receive important grant support which further validates us as a trusted recipient of public funding, in theatre today, grants and underwriting typically only supply about 2/3 of the cost of programs.  Donations must account for at least one third of our budget, so again, your donation has great meaning.  In fact, donations are typically a required element of eligibility for certain important grants.  So often, your donation can be doubled or tripled with matching grant support!

HOW TO DONATE: Although a next step for us will be a Pay Pal and Dwollaaccount and the ability to take credit card contributions, currently we are an extremely lean agency and as such, we would request the honor of a personal check contribution be sent to our offices, which are located in the Historic Sherman Hill Small Business District of downtown Des Moines at the following address:
