The Buzz!

HAVE YOU HEARD?  By popular demand, ISE's Youth Camp Collaborative (a terrific project in association with Gateway Dance Theatre!) is EXPANDING!

SmART Camp is adding a new summer season, to respond to the great way in which Spring SmART Camp has long been recieved- and ISE is again providing the theatre tract classes!

ISE will implement another great camp season of ISE's "Page to Stage" original curriculum - - and this summer the theme will be:  Shake and Rattle That Role- a crosscultural approach to Shakespeare!

What a great project- what terrific kids -  what a great collaboration!

Contact GatewayDance.org for more information - - and watch a whole new group of kids take a bow... and come up taller!

Thank you Penny Ferguson!

HAVE YOU HEARD?  ISE's involvement in the Senior College of Greater Des Moines is expanding!  We can't wait for the next group of dynamic, curious seniors to hit our discussion room floor - where they can observe live rehearsals, engage in talk backs wiht the Actors and our Directors- all while learning about Shakespeare and the other classic authors we produce in an egaging, supportive environment led by one of Iowa's "Teacher of the Year" college professors.

Its a great program - thank you Senior College for asking us for more!

HAVE YOU HEARD?  ISE's own Lorenzo Sandoval, our founder and Artistic Director, was recently honored as Teacher of the Year at one of the colleges where he works.  This award is especially meaningful because in this system, the award is one where both Lorenzo's peers and his students have to concur about bestowing this signficant honor.  Congratulations Lorenzo!

HAVE YOU HEARD?  Congratulations to ISE fave Matt Wiggins, for recently being hired as a leading camp counselor at a remarkable area Ranch Camp for youth - - way to go! Additional congratuations to Marie Schmidt for her work with youth, as well.  The educational and youth leadership abilities and experience of the entire ISE team just keep on growing!

HAVE YOU HEARD?  Congratuations to ISE Board of Directors member Barb Adams, for her extraordinary new opportunity as Principal of one of the Metro's award-winning Junior High Schools!  ISE has always had noted area educators on our Board, including our founding directors Bobbie Matheis and Anne Driscoll, both Masters Degreed Educators who helped leap-frog our educational programming from the very start.  Having Barb on our Board in that capacity now is a terrific privelege - and a great delight!  Thank you ISE Board members - always!

HAVE YOU HEARD?  ISE thanks the Des Moines Public Library for over a decade of educational collaborations of all sorts- what terrific programing!
